McMaster University's Global Health Committee strives to explore careers, issues, ethics, and research in global health. Our team has put on speaker and workshops on global surgery, Canadian rural family medicine, and MSF careers, to name a few. COVID-19 has impacted global health in a massive, tangible way. Our communities quickly realize how global health can also mean local health. We have hosted events on COVID-19 stories around the world, COVID-19 vaccines, and COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy.
Annually, we organize the McMaster Global Health Conference along side Global Health MSc students. We also plan an annual Global Health Carousel, which gives students an opportunity to explore interactions with patients in marginalized communities.
