GHES was an annual initiative carried out by the Global Health Committee and Political Advocacy Committee of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine at McMaster University. This year, we formed a collaboration with student representatives of the Global Health and Health Sciences department to form an interdisciplinary event. The goal of the conference is to engage delegates in various pertinent global health topics and to challenge the attendees in considering the ethics involved. Topics this year included mental health, refugee health, nutrition, water sanitation, research and development, and political violence. The conference incorporated small group sessions in the afternoon for deeper discussions and networking with leading researchers and faculty members in global health!
